COLLEGE APPLICATIONS
Preparing a series of applications to several colleges
and universities can be an overwhelming task for some
students. While there can seem like there is much overlap
between applications, the information that each college may
be seeking can vary greatly. Higher Ed Strategies LLC
College Planning Services offers the following options to
assist students and their families with organizing the
various facets of the application process.
HELP WITH CREATING THE FINAL COLLEGE APPLICATION LIST
Once a student has collected and analyzed all of their
academic and personal information related to the college
application, he/she can use the information to finalize
where to apply based on criteria that is important to
him/her. We help students with creating the final list of
where to apply based on criteria specific to each student
and how competitive the admissions process might be for that
specific college.
HELP WITH THE COLLEGE ESSAY
Most college admission requirements include submission of
a short or long essay and/or personal statement. Some
students feel overwhelmed with selecting a topic to write
about or deciding what to say about themselves in a personal
statement. Our services include guidance in the area of
topic selection and brainstorming ideas for a personal
statement as well as offering editorial feedback to make
the essay more polished.
Now that the standardized tests require a writing sample and
some colleges look at this score as part of the overall
standardized test score, it is also important that students
keep their writing samples consistent. We will not write
essays for students under any circumstances but there are
strategies that we can use to assist with creating a solid

While every college requires an application for admission,
almost every application can ask for different information.
Some students decide to use the Common Application while
others submit applications specific to each college to which
they are applying. We help students with preparing college
applications by offering advice and guidance as it applies
to the information requested by the various colleges and how
best to present this information within the confines of the
application requirements. In addition, we can assist
students with interview preparation for those colleges that
consider the interview to be a criterion for admission.
