"The price of college has escalated far faster
in recent years than inflation and household
incomes, prompting questions from policy makers
about whether students are getting their money’s
worth." -Chronicle of Higher Education, Almanac

Financial Aid Planning
Financing a college education is no easy task. Navigating
the college financial aid process is even harder. Most
colleges and universities use financial aid as a recruitment
tool. Some forms of financial aid help a family meet
financial need, while others are based on academic ability
or some other skill such as music or athletics.
Our Financial Aid Planning services examine the types of
financial aid for which the student may be eligible and
outline the financial aid process students and parents can
expect based on their final college application list. In
addition, we provide ongoing guidance with navigating the
financial aid application process and understanding and
comparing financial aid offers. We can also help families
communicate with financial aid departments when necessary.
Our most popular financial aid planning services include:
- Financial aid eligibility review
- FAFSA and CSS profile completion assistance
- Framing and submitting financial aid appeals
- Evaluating and comparing financial aid offers
Students who want to apply for need-based financial aid
will be required to complete the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Some schools also ask families to
complete the CSS Profile Student Financial Aid Application
along with their own institutional financial aid
application. Gaining an understanding of what you can expect
from the schools on your college application list in terms
of applying for financial aid can help maximize financial
aid outcomes.
Our Financial Aid Strategy services are not financial
planning services. Therefore, when appropriate, we may make
referrals to financial planners who are familiar with
college planning process and can offer financial planning
services.
